Deborah Henson + Garrison Roots • Abracadabra
Four pairings of the artists depicting similar poses, allowing the audience to realize that men and women are the same. The work was completed mainly by 1996. Garrison formerly held the position of Chair of the art department at the University of Colorado. He continued to work in that capacity and as a sculpture professor until his death in 2011.
Deborah Henson has been an EDGE member since 1993. She and Garrison formed a friendship that helped formulate the photographs. She graduated from CU with an emphasis on photography.
