I am a self-taught painter living in Lakewood, CO. I began painting in 1996 as a way to work through the pain of losing my sister. Painting not only helped me grieve, but I found that it also helped mitigate the stress of everyday live. Expressing myself through art not only has saved me more times than I can count, but it is also a great joy in my life.
The act of creating art is as important to me as the final product, if not more. I enjoy working with varied art supplies, but my loves are oil paints, oil pastels and charcoal. These are materials that lend themselves to smudging and blending allow me to really dig in and create intuitively.
