At the Verge

At the Verge is an exhibition that shines a light on four categories of pollinators: butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and bats.

A collaboration by Edge gallery member artist Faith Williams and local artist Brandon Finamore, the show merges science-based illustration and artistic aesthetic to spark conversations about the plight of pollinators and their importance to sustaining a healthy ecosystem, environment, and food systems.

“Our desire is for our audience to walk away with a renewed appreciation and understanding of pollinators and their importance to our natural world. The long term goal is to donate some of the proceeds from the show toward conservation efforts and connect viewers to ways they can get involved. ”

20% of the sales from this show will go directly to pollinator conservation and sustainability efforts:  Endangered Species Coalitionand Pollinator Partnership.

Words and Relationship

"Peace" (detail) rust dyed silk organza 2020
“Peace” (detail) rust dyed silk organza 2020

Much of my art has developed around the ideas of interconnection and relationship. When we exchange words through conversation or writing, the words shift depending on our understanding of them. This has a significant impact on how ideas evolve in our world. In this work I examined words and what they mean to me. How does my visual exploration of a word help me better understand my relationship with it and what am I trying to say when I use a particular word? These art works are visual interpretations of the meaning of words through fiber and sculptural forms.
